Osman Salad Hersi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at the Faculty of Science, University of Regina. He holds a Ph.D. and is actively involved in research and teaching in sedimentology, stratigraphy, and petroleum geology. His academic journey includes prior appointments as Assistant Professor at Sultan Qaboos University, Research Scientist at Carleton University, and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Quebec Geoscience Centre. His recent publications (2020–2025) emphasize sequence stratigraphy, diagenetic controls on reservoir quality, CO 2 sequestration, and sedimentary basin evolution. He frequently collaborates with international researchers, especially in Oman and Pakistan. He has taught a wide range of courses including Petroleum Geology, Sedimentology, Stratigraphy, and specialized graduate topics in siliciclastic and carbonate systems. His scientific contributions are reflected in numerous peer-reviewed publications and conference proceedings.
