Professor Alan Marshall holds the chair in Communications Networks at the University of Liverpool and serves as director of the Advanced Networks Group. His roles include visiting professor in network security at the University of Nice/CNRS, France, and Adjunct Professor for Research at Sunway University Malaysia. With over 25 years of experience in Telecommunications and Defence Industries, he is a Senior Member of IEEE and Fellow of the IET . Scientific Contributions: While his overall research outputs include over 270 papers, the repository highlights his co-authorship on a 2016 protocol improving computational efficiency for resource-constrained devices in IEEE 802.15.6 standard. This work addresses security challenges in IoT environments, military applications, and sensor networks by unbalancing computational requirements between communication parties.
