Sabine Beyer is a Lecturer at the Language Center of the University of Münster (Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster), where she has served as a research assistant since 2009. Her primary responsibilities include coordination of German courses (A1-B1 level), management of language learning tandem programs, provision of individual language learning advice, and serving as Officer for Evaluation and Quality Assurance. Her research interests focus on German as a Foreign Language, Tandem Language Learning methodologies, Autonomous Language Learning strategies, and Intercultural Competence development. Dr. Beyer has developed expertise in language learning counseling and innovative teaching methods that promote self-directed language acquisition. Her publication record from 2000-2022 demonstrates a consistent focus on oral language production in foreign language acquisition, tandem learning methodologies, and autonomous language learning strategies. Her work shows an evolution from theoretical investigations of language acquisition processes toward practical applications in language teaching and learning contexts, particularly in the development of effective tandem language exchange programs. Dr. Beyer has extensive teaching experience spanning over two decades, beginning with teaching German as a Foreign Language at Bielefeld University (2000-2004), followed by work in preparatory and study-supporting language programs at the University of Münster Language Center since 2005. She has also taught vocational German to migrants (2008/09) and has been teaching in the certificate program for German as a Foreign Language since 2010. She holds a Master's degree in German as a Foreign Language, Spanish and Latin American Studies, and Educational Sciences from the University of Bielefeld and the University of Barcelona. Additionally, she is certified as an individual psychological counselor and supervisor by the German Society for Individual Psychology (DGIP).
