Lilian Dindo, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor at the Baylor College of Medicine and previously at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics . She co-directs the Health Services Research track at the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and serves as Associate Program Director for the Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness, and Safety. Dr. Dindo holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Iowa and a Graduate Certificate in Clinical and Translational Investigation. Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Iowa Licensed Health Service Provider in Iowa Research Interests: Dr. Dindo specializes in developing pragmatic behavioral interventions for comorbid psychiatric and chronic medical conditions. Her work focuses on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) adaptation for patients with migraine, cardiovascular disease, inflammatory conditions, and post-surgical risks. She emphasizes treatment delivery innovation, psychological mechanism identification, and veteran-specific applications. Scientific Grant Funding: Dr. Dindo has secured multiple NIH and VA grants including: R01 NR017610-01 (2019-2023): Preventing post-surgical pain in veterans R34 MH122294-01A1 (2020-2023): HIV patient engagement I01 RX003117-01A1 (2020-2023): TBI and chronic pain ACT on Health Lab: As lab director, Dr. Dindo leads a multidisciplinary team developing single-day behavioral workshops for medical populations. Current team members include Merlyn Rodrigues (Lab Coordinator), Latosha Kessell (Workshop Facilitator), and several research assistants. Alumni collaborators include Mayte Forte and Alex Uzdavines .
