James Bahoh is an Assistant Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Memphis. He holds a PhD from Duquesne University and an MA from Boston College. His research focuses on phenomenology, post-phenomenological Continental philosophy, and ontology/metaphysics, particularly engaging thinkers like Heidegger and Deleuze. He explores the philosophical divide between analytic and continental traditions, emphasizing historical philosophy's role in addressing contemporary issues. Dr. Bahoh has held prestigious positions including a Fulbright Postdoctoral Scholarship at Deakin University, a VolkswagenStiftung/Mellon Fellowship at the University of Bonn, and a visiting role at Marquette University. His current book project examines the metaphysics of identity, difference, and representation through Heidegger and Deleuze. He serves as Presiding Officer of the Heidegger Circle Executive Committee, a key North American scholarly organization for Heidegger research. His work emphasizes 'diagenic analysis,' a method clarifying Heidegger's evolving ontology by tracking conceptual grounding across texts. Key themes include the philosophy of events, the critique of representation, and ontological difference. Presentations include engagements with Heidegger's Beiträge and Deleuze's engagement with Nietzsche/Kant.
