Lecturer
Patrick Stöckle is a Lecturer at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and a Research Scientist at Siemens AG. His primary roles include cloud/container security research, academic teaching, and industry collaboration. He completed his Dr. rer. nat. (PhD) in Informatics at TUM (2017–2024), focusing on security configuration under Prof. Alexander Pretschner. Previously, he earned an M.Sc. (2017) and B.Sc. (2016) in Informatics from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), specializing in software engineering and security. His research interests revolve around IT security configuration, DevSecOps automation, and secure software development. He co-developed tools like Scapolite for automated security hardening and contributed to industry standards like CIS Benchmarks. He has published at top conferences including IEEE/ACM ASE and ACM CODASPY. Teaching-wise, he led the Security Engineering course at TUM (2019–2022), introducing programming exercises that boosted student engagement. He also supervised 13 bachelor/master theses. He actively contributes to academic talks and industry workshops, focusing on container security, CI/CD optimization, and security configuration best practices.
