Anders Hammer Strømman is a Professor at NTNU’s Industrial Ecology Programme and Vice Dean for Sustainability at the Faculty of Engineering. His research focuses on sustainability science, energy systems, and climate change mitigation, leveraging tools like life cycle assessment (LCA) and multi-regional input-output analysis. He contributed to the IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report and developed frameworks like the MariTEAM shipping emissions model and the B-LEAP battery platform. Strømman teaches graduate courses in LCA for Industrial Ecology and Energy & Environment programs. His work addresses challenges in lithium-ion battery production, aviation emissions, and maritime trade’s energy impacts. He received the Laudise Medal in 2011 for contributions to industrial ecology. Key projects include analyzing battery cost trajectories, optimizing plastic packaging circularity, and modeling global shipping emissions. His interdisciplinary approach bridges environmental science, engineering, and policy, with a focus on actionable solutions for decarbonization.
