Michael Filippakis is a Professor at the Department of Digital Systems, University of Piraeus, Greece. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Ioannina, and a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), where he received the State Scholarships Foundation Award for his doctoral work. His academic career includes a position as a P.D.407/80 Lecturer before attaining his current professorship. He teaches courses such as Discrete Mathematics, Probability Theory, Information Theory, and Mathematical Analysis.
