Associate Professor
Dieuwer Ten Braak is an Associate Professor at the University of Stavanger, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Education and the Norwegian Centre for Learning Environment and Behavioral Research in Education. Her research focuses on early childhood development, executive function, self-regulation, and learning in preschool and early school contexts. Her research interests include early childhood education, executive function, self-regulation, early mathematics and literacy development, social-emotional learning, play-based learning, and inclusion. She investigates how cognitive and behavioral regulation relate to academic and social outcomes, using longitudinal and experimental designs. Her recent publications show a strong trend toward interdisciplinary research in developmental psychology and education, with a focus on assessment tools, intervention effectiveness, and equity in early learning. She frequently employs meta-analytic, longitudinal, and randomized controlled trial methodologies.
