Esteban G. Tabak is a Professor of Mathematics at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from MIT (1992) and a Hydraulic Engineer degree from the University of Buenos Aires (1988). His research spans fluid dynamics, data science, and optimization, with notable contributions to optimal transport theory, atmospheric and ocean modeling, and machine learning methodologies. He leads the Research and Training Group in Mathematical Modeling and Simulation at NYU. Research Interests include Data Analysis, Optimal Transport, Applied Mathematics, and Physics, particularly in fluid dynamics and geophysical flows.
