Dr. Mrigesh Bhatia is a Lecturer in Health Policy and Course Director for the MSc Health Policy, Planning and Financing at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He holds an MD in Preventive and Social Medicine from Bombay and a PhD in Health Economics from the University of London. His academic career includes roles as a Lecturer at Seth G S Medical College, Reader at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and post-doctoral fellow at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. He is affiliated with LSE Health, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and the International Institute for Population Sciences. His research focuses on health systems in developing countries, chronic disease epidemiology, and healthcare policy in India. Key areas include child undernutrition, hypertension trends in Indian adults, and intergenerational health behaviors. He has consulted for organizations like the WHO, World Bank, and UNICEF. Teaching responsibilities include HP401 (Introduction to Health Policy and Politics) and HP403 (Health Systems in Developing Countries). He is a member of the Institute of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and serves as a PhD examiner at the University of London.
