Afshin Mansouri is a Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at Brunel Business School , where he has held leadership roles such as Director of Research (2017-22) and Director of Postgraduate Studies (2016-17). He holds a PhD, MSc, and BSc in Industrial Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology and has prior academic experience at the University of Tours, University of Tehran, and King’s College London. Research Interests: His work bridges sustainable operations , humanitarian logistics , and data-driven decision-making , with notable contributions to green scheduling in maritime and manufacturing sectors. The Green Yard Scheduler (TRL 7) developed under the PortForward project has been piloted at the Port of Vigo. Recent Publications highlight trends in energy-aware scheduling , supply chain resilience , and humanitarian disaster management , leveraging OR/MS methodologies and big data analytics . He has secured €2.4 million in grants from EU and UK funders, including EPSRC and European Commission projects like Z-Fact0r and MINI-CHIP . Scientific Awards : Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) PhD Supervision includes topics on circular fashion , humanitarian supply chains , and healthcare sustainability , with graduates securing roles in academia and industry.
