Johan Braeken is a Professor at the University of Oslo's Centre for Educational Measurement (CEMO). He holds expertise in psychometric modeling, particularly in modern test design, including computerized adaptive testing (CAT) and item response theory (IRT). His research focuses on improving assessment methodologies in education and large-scale evaluations. Education: PhD in Psychology (Psychometrics) from K.U.Leuven, Belgium (2008). Previous roles include Associate Professor (2014–2017) and Assistant Professor positions at Wageningen University and Tilburg University in the Netherlands. He has also worked as a psychometrician at CITO (2008–2009). Research Interests: Development and application of latent variable models, CAT optimization, and evaluation of international educational assessments.
