Professor
Prof. Susanne Lengyel serves as President of the Georg Agricola University of Applied Sciences since September 2022. She is also a Professor for Engineering Design and Prototyping at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences (2011–present), following roles including Vice President for Studies and Teaching (2016–2021) and Founding Dean of the "Computer Visualistics and Design" program (2011–2014). Studied Industrial Design at the University of Essen (now Folkwang University of the Arts), Manchester Metropolitan University, and Texas A&M University. Her research focuses on technical design , prototyping , and user interface development , particularly in the context of sustainability transformation at universities. She has led third-party funded projects such as: ETNa (2021–2024): Participatory sustainability pathways. PlugIn (2020–2023): Self-adaptive user interfaces for devices. FH Personnel Project (2021–2026): Professorial recruitment and development. She has held leadership roles in design associations, including Vice President of the German Design Day e.V. (2012–2025) and President of the Association of German Industrial Designers e.V. (2000–2012).
