Researcher
Silvia Damerio is a researcher at the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials , part of the University of Groningen , Netherlands. Her work focuses on magnetic properties of antiferromagnetic thin films, particularly CaFe 2 O 4 , using spin Hall magnetoresistance (SMR) measurements to investigate coexisting magnetic orderings and uncoupled spins at domain boundaries. Research Interests: Antiferromagnetic materials, spintronic device physics, magnetic thin film characterization, and computational modeling of spin configurations. Key Contributions: Demonstrated field-induced magnetization mechanisms in CaFe2O4 thin films through multi-domain electrical measurements, revealing antiphase boundary effects and postulating their role in net magnetization. Labs/Teams: Collaborates with the Groningen Cognitive Systems and Materials Center (CogniGron) , utilizing advanced facilities for pulsed laser deposition and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD). Publications: Recent work explores SMR response anomalies in antiferromagnets, published in Advanced Electronic Materials (2021).
