Senior Lecturer
Dr Judith Wylie serves as a Senior Lecturer in Accounting within the Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics at Ulster University Business School, Belfast campus. She joined Ulster University in 2010 and holds dual expertise in accounting and law, having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC where she worked in forensic accounting globally. Her educational background includes undergraduate studies in accounting and law under entrance scholarships, with a semester at the University of Newcastle, Australia. She maintains professional affiliations as a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and the Higher Education Academy. Wylie's research focuses on Corporate Social Responsibility , Corporate Governance , and Business Ethics , with particular emphasis on communication strategies in CSR reporting. Her work connects strongly with UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially in sustainable business practices and ethical governance. She has developed frameworks for CSR implementation in SMEs and examined stakeholder communication in integrated reporting. Analysis of her 15 most recent publications reveals consistent exploration of sustainability accounting, ethical business practices, and innovative educational approaches. Her work increasingly integrates technology themes, particularly in recent AI-focused sustainability research. The publications demonstrate strong methodological diversity including longitudinal case studies, SME framework development, and comparative student perspective analyses. Gen AI in Education Awards 'Team of the Year' (2025) Wylie directs the BSc Hons Business Technology degree, a Higher Level Apprenticeship Programme run in partnership with Deloitte's 'BrightStart' initiative. Her teaching includes forensic accounting, cybercrime, governance, risk management, and corporate governance. She led a team winning the Ulster University Distinguished Teaching Fellowship in 2014 for embedding employability in teaching. Her research projects include investigations into CSR communication strategies and sustainable development goal disclosures in public sector organizations.
