Dr. Swathi Vanniarajan is a Professor of Psycholinguistics and Chair of the Department of Linguistics and Language Development at San José State University (College of Humanities and the Arts). Born in India and educated across India, Canada, and the USA, he has taught applied linguistics in multiple countries including India, Canada, Singapore, and the USA. Education: India, Canada, USA Specialization: Language acquisition, language testing, psycholinguistics Key Role: Project Director of PALEEP initiative Dr. Vanniarajan's research focuses on cognitive processes in second language acquisition, heritage language maintenance, and assessment methodologies. His work explores the intersection of human memory, brain function, and language processing. He directs graduate theses on topics including language assessment and heritage language preservation. His publications span psycholinguistics, language teaching technology, and cross-cultural communication. Current team affiliations include collaboration with Dr. Ayesha Sohail and Dr. Soteria (Roula) Svorou under the PALEEP project.
