Silvia Cirstea is a Professor of Computer Science and Deputy Head of the School of Computing and Information Science at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU). She leads research in the Advanced Computing Research Centre and Vision and Eye Research Institute (VERI), focusing on computational modeling, AI, and their applications in healthcare, engineering, and assistive technologies. Her work addresses challenges like acoustic navigation for visually impaired individuals and AI-driven medical diagnostics. Recent work includes quantum cryptography for cybersecurity and AI frameworks for climate risk prediction. Teaching: Silvia teaches advanced mathematical and analytical techniques for AI at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, contributing to programs in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Applied Data Science. Labs/Teams: She collaborates with VERI on auditory navigation systems and leads interdisciplinary teams in the Advanced Computing Research Centre, integrating AI with healthcare and environmental engineering.
