Dr. Chen Chen is a Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Sheffield, Honorary Research Associate at Imperial College London (working with Prof. Daniel Rueckert and Dr. Wenjia Bai), and Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on developing deep learning algorithms for medical image analysis, with expertise in biomedical polymers, biomaterials, and tissue engineering. She holds a PhD in Computing from Imperial College London (2022), MSc in Advanced Computing (2016), and BEng in IoT Engineering (2015). Research interests span medical imaging AI, cardiorespiratory medicine, and biocompatible materials. Her work includes developing elastomeric scaffolds for cardiac tissue engineering and improving biomaterial design for bone regeneration. Recent publications explore polymer fabrication techniques, material characterization, and applications in healthcare. Education: PhD in Computing, Imperial College London (2022) MSc in Advanced Computing, Imperial College London (2016) BEng in IoT Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology (2015) Awards: China National Scholarship (2013, 2014) Publications reflect interdisciplinary work in biomedical materials and AI-driven medical imaging. She has collaborated on projects involving polymer-electrospun scaffolds, calcium phosphate biomaterials, and AI applications in healthcare. Current roles include teaching computer vision at Sheffield and part-time research at HeartFlow. She contributes to labs focused on computational imaging and biomaterials development.
