Rebecca Baelen is a Research Fellow in the Department of Psychology at the University of Illinois Chicago. Her work focuses on mindfulness-based interventions in educational settings, with a particular emphasis on teacher well-being, social-emotional learning (SEL), and youth development. She has contributed to developing scalable mindfulness programs for K-12 educators and students, emphasizing culturally responsive practices and teacher-centered approaches to professional development. Her research also explores leadership frameworks rooted in mindfulness and yoga to improve school culture and organizational change.
