Prof. Dr. Laura Clérico is an Honorary Professor of Comparative Constitutional Law and Human Rights Protection at Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), where she co-teaches the M.A. Human Rights program. She concurrently serves as a Constitutional Law professor at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and teaches Social Rights at the University of Palermo. As a researcher for Argentina's CONICET, her work focuses on comparative constitutional law, the Inter-American Human Rights System, social rights, gender perspectives, and the integration of international human rights law into sub-national court rulings. Her academic credentials include a law degree from UBA, an LLM and PhD from the University of Kiel. She has authored over 50 publications since 2011, specializing in topics like judicial methodology, gender stereotypes in law, socio-economic rights adjudication, and the impact of international financial institutions on human rights obligations. Research interests emphasize multidimensional equality frameworks combining redistribution, recognition, and participatory parity, with particular attention to marginalized groups including indigenous peoples, afro-descendants, and economically disadvantaged communities. Her recent work critiques structural disadvantage in judicial equality assessments and explores the role of sub-national courts in advancing human rights.
