Dr. Luis E. Pérez Cortés is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Higher Education, Adult Learning, and Organizational Studies at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), where he has taught courses like Simulations and Gamification of Learning and User Experience Design for Accessibility since 2023. He previously worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Pittsburgh (2021-2023) and earned his Ph.D. in Learning, Literacies, and Technologies from Arizona State University (2021). His research focuses on how digital and tabletop games shape literacy practices and worldviews, particularly for under-represented populations, across formal and informal contexts like classrooms, museums, and esports leagues.
