Katja Tikka is a Researcher in Legal History at the Faculty of Law, University of Helsinki, with a focus on migration, minority histories (particularly Karelians), and early modern legal-commercial systems. She holds a Doctor of Law (2020) and Master's in Nordic History (2014). Her work spans genealogy research, organizational histories, and popular non-fiction, editing two peer-reviewed genealogy journals. Key research areas include Karelian identity, post-WWII land disputes, and early modern European mobility/empires.
