Edward Harcourt is a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Oxford and a Fellow by Special Election at Keble College. He holds dual appointments in the Department of Philosophy and the Department of Psychiatry. His research focuses on ethics, moral psychology, and the intersections of philosophy with psychoanalysis and psychiatry. He earned his BPhil and DPhil from Oxford after an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and History at Trinity College, Cambridge. Key roles include leading the Wellcome ISSF project on mental health and the AHRC International Research Network on attachment theory and virtue. He directs the Oxford Summer Schools in Philosophy and Psychiatry and serves as Academic Director of the Royal Institute of Philosophy.
