Associate Professor
Ertuğrul KESKİN is an Associate Professor at Adıyaman University's Faculty of Pharmacy in the Department of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from Yüzüncü Yıl University (2009). His academic career began as a chemistry teacher in the Ministry of Education (1999–2012) before transitioning to academia. He served as an Assistant Professor at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University (2012–2015) before joining Adıyaman University in 2015. He specializes in electroanalytical chemistry, focusing on electrochemical sensors, electrode modification, and the analysis of drugs, environmental pollutants, and carcinogens. Education : Bachelor's in Chemistry: Selçuk University (1999) Master's in Chemistry: Yüzüncü Yıl University (2003) PhD in Chemistry: Yüzüncü Yıl University (2009) Research Interests : Dr. KESKİN’s research emphasizes the development of electrochemical methods for quantifying pharmaceuticals, environmental toxins, and biomolecules. His work leverages boron-doped diamond electrodes and pencil graphite electrodes for enhanced sensitivity in detecting substances like carcinogens, neurotransmitters, and antibiotics. He has pioneered methods for analyzing drugs in pharmaceutical formulations and biological fluids, such as urine and beverages. Key Contributions : Developed novel electrochemical sensors for detecting myosmine in tobacco and norfloxacin in environmental samples. Designed surfactant-enhanced voltammetric techniques for quantifying drugs like tramadol and diflunisal. Advanced understanding of DNA interactions with carcinogens using electrochemical methods. Teaching & Leadership : He teaches courses in analytical chemistry and scientific research methodology. He has held administrative roles, including Vice Dean at Adıyaman University (2016–2017) and Department Head (2016–2020). He has led projects to improve laboratory infrastructure for pharmaceutical research.
