Helen Byrne is a Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Oxford and a Tutorial Fellow at Keble College. Her academic roles include former Examiner for Final Honour School Mathematics, Associate Head of Department for Planning and Equality and Diversity, and Director of Equality and Diversity in the university’s MPLS Division. DPhil MSc BA/MA Her research focuses on developing mathematical and computational models to study biomedical systems, particularly solid tumours, wound healing, and tissue engineering. She aims to uncover mechanisms behind biological phenomena and derive novel mathematical insights from these models. Recent publications highlight her work in tumor-immune interactions, atherosclerosis, antibody dynamics, and radiation therapy, employing techniques like spatial modeling, agent-based simulations, and multiscale approaches.
