Prof. Leocani Annunziata Maria Letizia is an Associate Professor of Neurology at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Università Vita Salute San Raffaele. She holds leadership roles in the Experimental Neurophysiology Unit at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute and has directed the Neurorehabilitation Unit at San Raffaele Hospital. With a Medical Degree (cum laude from University of Milan), a PhD in Human Physiology (Excellent), and specialization in Neurology (with honors), her expertise spans neurophysiological and imaging techniques for studying neurological changes in learning, aging, and neuroinflammatory/neurodegenerative diseases. Her research focuses on digital health technologies, including tele-neurophysiology, wearable devices for neurological monitoring, and clinical trials for MS treatments. She has pioneered remote monitoring tools like electronic cognitive assessments and OCT applications. With over 430 publications, her work intersects clinical neurology with technological innovation. She serves on international committees including the European Commission’s Medical Devices Panel and leadership roles in SINC (Italian Society of Clinical Neurophysiology) and EAN (European Academy of Neurology). Her educational contributions include teaching neurology courses and supervising doctoral programs in Cognitive Sciences and Neuroscience. Prof. Leocani’s translational research bridges clinical practice with technological advancements, emphasizing patient-centered approaches in neurorehabilitation and digital biomarkers for disease progression tracking.
