Professor
Professor Gabriele DeLuca is a leading academic at the University of Oxford , serving as Professor of Clinical Neurology and Experimental Neuropathology, Honorary Consultant Neurologist, and Director of Clinical Neurosciences Undergraduate Education. He co-leads the Oxford-Quinnipiac-Trinity Health Of New England Partnership to advance neuro-rehabilitation research and education. Academic Roles: Director of Clinical Neurosciences Undergraduate Education, Co-Director of Oxford-Quinnipiac Partnership Research Focus: Neuropathology of multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, dementia, and vascular diseases His research integrates clinical neurology and rehabilitation, aiming to translate post-mortem tissue analysis into therapeutic targets for living patients. Current projects explore neuroinflammation, amyloid pathology, and neurovascular hypotheses in neurodegenerative conditions. Recent scientific recognition includes the Vice Chancellor's Award (2025) and multiple Teaching Excellence Awards (2022-2025). He holds fellowships from the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) and American Academy of Neurology (FAAN), alongside the Cavanagh Prize in Neuropathology (2017).
