Prof. Dr. Nurhan AYDIN is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at Kafkas University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, specializing in Atatürk's Principles and the History of the Republic of Turkey. With over three decades of academic service since 1995 at the same institution, she has established herself as a leading scholar in Turkish Republican history, particularly focusing on the National Struggle period, Caucasus history, and Turkish foreign policy. Her educational background includes a BA from Atatürk University (1986), followed by doctoral studies at Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences (2010), where she completed both her doctorate and post-doctorate in History. Her research interests span Atatürk's Principles, National Struggle history, Caucasus-Turkey relations, and military history, reflecting her deep engagement with Turkey's formative periods. Ayın's scholarly output reveals a clear chronological trajectory from early work on Ottoman-Russian conflicts toward contemporary analyses of Turkish foreign policy and democratization processes. Her publications demonstrate exceptional regional expertise, particularly regarding Kars, Artvin, and broader Caucasus history, with recurring themes of national identity formation, military strategy, and diplomatic relations. She has also held significant administrative roles including Research and Application Center Director positions (2011-2018) and Board Membership at Kafkas University. Her scholarly activities extend to international collaboration, with co-authored works involving researchers from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and other Turkic states. The establishment of specialized research centers under her leadership has created platforms for interdisciplinary historical studies focusing on Eastern Anatolia and Caucasus regions.
