Senior Lecturer
Lisa Board is the Associate Head of School at the School of Sport, Health and Performance at the University of Sunderland. With a PhD in Environmental (High Altitude) Physiology from Leeds Beckett University and a European Master’s in Adapted Physical Activity from the University of Northumbria (with Université du Montpellier and University of Leuven), she brings extensive academic credentials to her role. Accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist (BASES) Chartered Scientist (Science Council) Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy Chair, UK Clinical Exercise Physiology Education and Standards Group Her research spans environmental physiology , occupational physiology , and clinical exercise applications , including high-altitude cardiovascular studies and workplace health initiatives. Current projects focus on firefighter cardiovascular health and blended teaching methodologies. Publications include 15+ works in sports education, high-altitude physiology, and women's rugby analytics. Collaborative research with institutions in France, Belgium, and the UK demonstrates her international engagement.
