Dr. Nanda Aryal is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Systems and Safety Research within the Australian Institute of Health Innovation at Macquarie University. With extensive experience in health research settings, Dr. Aryal brings strong expertise in statistical theory, programming, and clinical trial design and analysis. His educational background includes a PhD in Statistics from The University of Melbourne and a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics with Modern Applications from The University of York. Prior to his current role, he worked for four years as a biostatistician at NHMRC Clinical Trial Centre, University of Sydney, and held positions at the School of Mathematics and Statistics, The University of Melbourne, and the School of Economics, The University of Adelaide. Dr. Aryal's research focuses on developing and evaluating statistical methods for analyzing complex health data. His work spans biostatistics, health analytics, clinical trials, Approximate Bayesian Computation, statistical learning, and health economics. He has conducted significant research using linked health information systems data to identify patterns and trends that inform health policy and decision-making. His recent work has particularly emphasized sepsis outcomes, surgical volume-outcome relationships, medication safety through health informatics, and emergency department care processes. His publication record shows a strong trajectory with 28 research outputs, including numerous high-impact articles in 2024-2025. These publications demonstrate expertise across health services research, critical care medicine, health informatics, and implementation science, with particular emphasis on statistical methodologies applied to real-world health data. Active researcher with 28 total publications Extensive collaboration across Australian healthcare institutions Research cited in multiple academic and social media platforms Work picked up by news outlets and academic discussion forums Dr. Aryal has collaborated extensively with researchers across multiple institutions, with notable work at major Australian healthcare research centers. His research has received attention through social media platforms (X, Bluesky), academic platforms (Mendeley), and news outlets, indicating the relevance and impact of his research in both academic and broader contexts.
