Dr. Dong-shin Shin holds the academic rank of Associate Professor in the Literacy and Second Language Studies program. She completed her doctoral studies in Language, Literacy, and Culture at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her research adopts sociocultural perspectives to investigate English Language Learners' literacy development in digital and sociocultural contexts, with a focus on academic writing, disciplinary literacies, and multimodal composition. Her work examines how digital technologies and social practices shape language learning processes, particularly in multilingual and multicultural educational settings.
