Dorit Geva is a Professor for Politics and Gender at the University of Vienna , holding her position since January 2024. Previously, she was an Associate Professor (2014-2021) and Professor (2021-2023) at the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology at Central European University, where she also served as Dean of Studies (2019-2022). Her academic journey includes fellowships at the European University Institute (2006-2007) and the University of Chicago (2007-2011). She holds a PhD and MA from New York University (1999-2006). She employs diverse methodologies such as political ethnography, archival research, interviews, and comparative methods , with a particular interest in state theories, masculinity, citizenship, and contemporary sovereignty transformations .
