Zoltan Markus

Zoltan Markus is Associate Professor of English at Vassar College's School of Humanities, holding degrees from Loránd Eötvös University (BA/MA), University of Birmingham (MPhil), and New York University (PhD). His research focuses on early modern English literature, Shakespeare studies, European drama, and cultural/performance theory.

His work explores intersections of theatrical traditions and literary analysis across European contexts, with publications appearing internationally. Current research examines cultural appropriations of Shakespeare in London and Berlin during World War II through a comparative lens.
