Research Focus: The Sachs Lab investigates molecular mechanisms of leukemia stem cell self-renewal in AML using single-cell high-throughput technologies (mass cytometry/CyTOF, single-cell RNA sequencing) and patient-derived xenografts. Key areas include therapeutic targeting of TP53-altered AML, computational methods for scRNA-seq analysis, and modeling MDS progression to AML.
Notable Contributions: Presented research on crizotinib's effects in TP53-altered AML at the 2019 ASH Annual Meeting. Collaborates with the Masonic Cancer Center's Genetic Mechanisms of Cancer Program.
Labs & Teams: Leads the Sachs Lab, managing a team including Research Associate Marie Lue Antony (PhD), Lab Manager Klara Noble-Orcutt (MS), and PhD candidates in the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Program.
