Zoe Veal

Zoe Veal is a Senior Lecturer and Admissions Tutor in the Department of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol). She holds roles in both teaching and academic leadership within the Health and Applied Sciences (HAS) faculty. Her clinical background includes 13 years as a Registered Nurse (Child) specializing in pediatric surgical specialties, cardiology, burns, neurology, and practice assessment of nursing students. She transitioned to full-time nurse education in 2008 and now teaches across foundation, undergraduate, and master's programs, focusing on theory and clinical skills modules. Her research interests revolve around enhancing compassionate practice through the use of children’s literature in nursing education and the history of children’s nursing.
