Zoë Pettit

Professor Zoë Pettit serves as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Professor of French and Translation Studies at the University of Greenwich. She previously held leadership roles including Head of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (2018-2021) and Head of the Department of Literature, Language and Theatre (2014-2018). Her education includes a PhD from Paul Valéry University focusing on audiovisual translation.

Her research examines interlingual subtitling/dubbing across film, television and documentary genres, with current focus on multilingual films and multimodal communication. She maintains interdisciplinary approaches connecting Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences to understand meaning-making processes.
