Zied Ben Cheikh

Zied Ben Cheikh serves as a Research Fellow at the Research Centre in Digitalization and Intelligent Robotics (CeDRI), affiliated with the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal since 2025. His work focuses on developing assessment methodologies for Industry 4.0 technological maturity in SMEs.

His academic qualifications include:

• B.Sc in Electromechanics Engineering from Higher Institute of Technological Studies of Rades, Tunisia (2021)
• M.Sc in Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal (2024)

His research spans Industry 4.0 implementation, Lean manufacturing systems, and industrial automation. He integrates theoretical expertise in Lean practices—emphasizing continuous improvement, quality tool applications, and waste reduction—with hands-on industry experience in supply chain optimization and Industry 4.0 deployment. Current work centers on creating practical frameworks for SMEs to evaluate digital transformation readiness.

As a Research Fellow at CeDRI, he contributes to interdisciplinary projects bridging robotics, digitalization, and industrial engineering within Portugal's research ecosystem.
