Ziba Gandomkar

Dr Ziba Gandomkar is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney, affiliated with the Sydney School of Health Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine and Health. She holds the Cancer Institute NSW Early Career Research Fellowship. Her research focuses on medical imaging, particularly in breast cancer detection, radiomics, and AI applications in healthcare. Dr Gandomkar’s work bridges artificial intelligence with clinical radiology, emphasizing the development of AI tools to enhance diagnostic accuracy and radiologist training.

Her research interests include radiologist decision-making processes, machine learning-driven radiomics, and the integration of AI into clinical workflows. Dr Gandomkar leads a team of students investigating topics like AI bias in pulmonary nodule interpretation and MRI protocol optimization. She has been awarded grants for projects like 'Effective Artificial Intelligence for breast cancer screening' and 'Transforming diagnosis of silicosis.' Her publications span journals such as British Journal of Radiology and Cancers, with a focus on AI ethics, radiologist performance analysis, and healthcare technology innovation.
