About
Ziang Xu is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at Rice University. He collaborates with Professor Haotian Wang in the Wang Group ("The CAT Group") to advance electrochemical technologies. His research focuses on molecular design of ion-conducting polymers, ion transport mechanisms, and catalytic layer optimization for applications in water electrolysis, ammonia electrosynthesis, and CO₂ reduction under electrolyte-free conditions.
- Education: PhD in Chemical Engineering and Technology (Tsinghua University, 2024); BS in Chemical Engineering (Tianjin University, 2019)
Research interests emphasize interface dynamics in bipolar membranes, alkaline ion membrane transport, and energy-efficient electrochemical systems. Current work targets decarbonization through CO₂ capture and catalytic electrode optimization.
Lab affiliation: The Wang Group at Rice University.
