Zi Yang Kang

Zi Yang Kang is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on microeconomic theory, market design, industrial organization, and algorithmic game theory. He holds a Ph.D. in Economic Analysis and Policy from Stanford Graduate School of Business, an M.S. in Mathematics from Stanford University, and a B.S. in Mathematics with Honors from Stanford University.

His work explores optimal redistribution mechanisms, platform economics, regulatory frameworks for externalities, and welfare analysis. Notable contributions include studies on public option design, vertical control in dominant platforms, and fixed-price approximations in bilateral trade.
