Zhonghua Peng is a Curators' Distinguished Professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), part of the School of Science and Engineering. He joined UMKC in 1998 as an Assistant Professor, progressing to Associate Professor (2001), Full Professor (2003), and his current distinguished rank (2014). His research focuses on developing functional organic, inorganic, polymeric, and hybrid materials for optoelectronic and biomedical applications.
