Zheng Liu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), affiliated with the College of Letters and Science. He earned his Ph.D. from Columbia University in 2016 under the supervision of Eric Urban. His research focuses on number theory, particularly p-adic properties of automorphic forms, special L-values, and Iwasawa theory. His work includes studies on p-adic L-functions for GSp(4) × GL(2), derived p-adic heights, and Eisenstein series on symplectic groups.
His research is supported by the NSF grant DMS #2001527. Notable contributions include investigations into Archimedean zeta integrals for unitary groups, differential operators in automorphic forms, and non-cuspidal Hida theory. He co-organizes the Seminar on Geometry and Arithmetic at UCSB, fostering academic collaboration.
Liu’s publications span topics such as Iwasawa main conjectures, p-adic interpolation techniques, and nearly overconvergent Siegel modular forms. His work bridges abstract algebraic structures with analytic methods, contributing to foundational questions in arithmetic geometry and number theory.
