Zhang Chi is the Founding Dean and Academic Committee Chair of the School of Chemical Science and Engineering at Tongji University, China. He holds the position of National Distinguished Professor and serves as Director of multiple international research centers, including the International Joint Research Centre for Photo-Response Functional Materials (MOST, China) and the China-Australia Joint Research Centre for Functional Molecular Materials. His academic journey includes roles as Research Professor at the Australian National University and Research Fellowships in Japan, Germany, and the U.S.
Education: Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Nanjing University (2000). Key research focuses include nano-heterojunctions for hydrogen generation, nonlinear optical materials, and functionalized nanohybrids. He has led over 30 major research grants, resulting in ~450 peer-reviewed publications and 60 patents.
