About
Zelio Fusco is a Research Fellow in the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) at The Australian National University (ANU). His research focuses on developing theoretical and experimental frameworks for plasmonic- and photonic-assisted catalysis, particularly in hot carrier generation and their application in chemical reactions. He completed his PhD at ANU on disordered photonic materials for sensing, following a Master's in Physics with a specialization in Radiation and Hadrotherapy from the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
His research interests include photocatalysis, metamaterials, and environmental applications of nanomaterials. Fusco collaborates widely, with projects spanning CO₂ reduction, electrochemical systems, and novel sensing technologies. He is registered to supervise research students in these areas.
Key achievements include advancements in plasmon-mediated catalytic systems and scalable electrocatalyst production. His work bridges fundamental materials science with applied technologies for energy and environmental challenges.
