About
Assoc. Prof. Zbigniew Wróbel is a member of the Scientific Groups at the Institute of Organic Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences (IChO), where he acts as Acting head of the group. His work focuses on the synthesis of nitrogen heterocycles from aromatic nitro compounds, utilizing nitroso intermediates for the preparation of indoles, quinolones, phenazines, and related systems.
Research Interests: Development of efficient, scalable methods for organic heterocycles, including:
- One-pot, multigram-scale syntheses
- Heavy-metal-free quinoline derivatives
- Trifluoromethylated benzimidazoles
- Reductive cyclization pathways
- Functionalization of nanocrystals
- Atmospheric chemistry of organic iodine
His publications span Organic Chemistry, Materials Science, and Environmental Chemistry, with a recurring emphasis on reaction mechanism studies and industrial-scale applications.
Affiliations: Institute of Organic Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences (IChO).
