Zbigniew Pastuszak

Zbigniew Pastuszak is a Professor at the Faculty of Economics of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin, Poland. He currently serves as Prorektor ds. Rozwoju i Współpracy z Gospodarką (Vice-Rector for Development and Collaboration with Economy) and Head of the Department of Information Systems and Logistics. His career spans over two decades, including roles as Dean of the Faculty of Economics (2012–2019), Director of the Institute of Management at UMCS (2009–2012), and leadership positions at institutions like University of Phoenix (USA) and Higher School of Entrepreneurship and Administration (WSPA) in Poland.

Research Interests: His work bridges logistics, information systems, and management, with a focus on Industry 4.0, smart cities, reverse logistics, and sustainable development. He has pioneered applications of machine learning in plastic waste management and explored feedback mechanisms in human-centric learning environments. His scholarship integrates technology, policy, and social dynamics, notably in EU environmental frameworks and post-socialist economic transitions.
