Zbigniew Hundert

Zbigniew Hundert is a research assistant professor in the Department of Early Modern History at the Faculty of History, University of Warsaw, and also serves as a custodian at the Center for Historical Research of the Royal Castle in Warsaw – Museum. He is an active scholar associated with the Warsaw center of historians of the modern era, contributing extensively to the study of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the 17th century.

His research focuses on the political, military, and economic history of the Commonwealth, with particular emphasis on the reign of John III Sobieski. Key areas of interest include military patronage, personnel policy, sejmic life, and the history of Mazovia. Hundert employs rigorous archival research, drawing on treasury and military records to reconstruct the structure and financing of armies during the Polish-Ottoman wars.
