Zaineb Sheikh is a Researcher at the Tobacco Control Research Group (TCRG) within the University of Bath, focusing on public health economics and tobacco policy. Her research examines how tobacco industries manipulate pricing and tax policies across low- and middle-income countries, particularly in Pakistan and Sub-Saharan Africa. She explores strategies like excise tax evasion, price segmentation, and media-driven misinformation campaigns.
Her recent work includes studies on Ukraine's tobacco tax reforms, illicit trade narratives in Pakistan, and industry pricing tactics undermining health policies in SSA countries. Projects involve collaborations with the STOP initiative and multilateral analyses of industry gray literature.
