Dr Zaenab Abd-Allah is a Senior Lecturer and Doctoral College Department Lead at the Department of Engineering, Manchester Metropolitan University. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Manchester (2012), specializing in non-thermal plasma applications for environmental remediation. Her career includes research associate roles at the University of Manchester, University of York, and University of Liverpool, focusing on plasma chemistry and energy production.
Her research interests span plasma catalysis, CO2 conversion, water treatment, and air pollution remediation. She is an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Thermofluids and leads a special issue on net-zero technologies. Awards include the 2023 SEEP Best Presentation Award and the 2009 Young Scientists Best Paper Award. She is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and a member of the IOP Institute of Physics.
Dr Abd-Allah supervises undergraduate and MSc projects, teaches mechanical engineering courses, and leads research projects funded by Horizon Europe and UKRI Innovate UK. Her editorial contributions include managing guest director roles for thematic issues on sustainable technologies.
